Copying iMessages with Big Sur

I used to be able to shift-highlight groups of messages in iMessage and copy and paste them. Since upgrading to Big Sur I can shift-copy but when I go to right-click to copy it unhighlights the group. Can't seem to find a solution. Probably something simple. Any suggestions?

I just tested this and works as it always has for me. Both methods: right click and select paste, and control V work. Messages remain highlighted.
