Hi folks,

I've got one of those fancy new tMBP running Sierra. For various reasons I didn't want to copy the data directly from my old MBP (running Yosemite). I do, however, want to keep my whole message history, but I can't figure out how. I've tried the following:

Closed Messages on the new Mac
Deleted the ~/Library/Messages folder
Deleted the iChat cache and container files under ~/Library
Copied the ~/Library/Messages folder from the old Mac to the new one

After this I opened Messages back up on the new Mac and only those messages I've received since setting it up are there. I figure it must be pulling those from what I copied over since I deleted what was there... right?

Any ideas what to do here?
Thanks!

I guess all I needed was a restart. I don't understand why, but the messages didn't show up after I logged out and logged back in, but they did after I restarted.
