core duo macbook on refurb store

is anybody buying core duo macbooks on the refurbished store? if so, can you tell me why you would get a core duo over a core 2 duo (aside from the cost savings), especially with impending santa rosa updates? are core duo macbooks still worth getting? tell your story.

I was wondering the same, as there are a bunch of 17" CD's on the refurb site..
