Speed wise I now the Core Duos in the MBP and iMac smoke the old 1.8 iMac G5 Rev A, but any idea on where a lowest Core Duo(1.5Ghz Low voltage) or a Core Sole would compare with a G5 1.8 (kind from iMac G5 1.8 Ghz Rev A 17'')?

Thanks

Why don't you compare it to a dual 2.0GHz or a single 2.1GHz or the almighty 2.7GHz G5... ?

Probably because zap2 has a Rev A iMac G5??

I reckon a 1.5Ghz Core Solo will perform at least as fast as a 1.6-1.8 G5 from the Rev A generation in native applications. Rosetta is sure to be slower though but that'll go away with time. Its still debateable whether Apple will use the Core Solos though since the price difference isn't that great between a Core Solo and a Core Duo. I'd expect a low speed low voltage Core Duo in the iBooks. Hell, maybe we'll find out next Tuesday!! I doubt it.
