New IMac...no QuickTime installed...its version 10.6.5. Which Quicktime version is the right one?
Thanks....new to Mac and trying to get familiar!!

It should be there? Remember that it's QuickTime Player if that matters. Snow Leopard comes with QuickTime 10 which cannot be downloaded separately. You can install QuickTime 7 from OS X install disc but otherwise I can't think of anything else but a reinstall of OS X. If it's a new Mac, maybe you should contact Apple but seriously, it should be there. Try Spotlight

There are two versions of Quicktime. Version 10 which is part of OS 10. and v7 which was the earlier version. This was upgradable to Quicktime Pro and features file editing features (personally I prefer this version!). This is downloadable from the Apple website.

You should already have version 10 installed on your machine.

Thanks much!
I re-installed from disc and all seems well! So far I am liking the switch!
