Not sure where to post this... basically my ssd drive randomly disconnected. It seems like I had a text file open in BBedit which looks to be corrupted now [see attached].

Any ideas on recovery or ways to interpret that gibberish?

Thanks!

That's what backups are for.
If the file truly contains random crap as it seems to do and you don't have an older copy of the file lying around, you're out of luck.

I have a Time Machine backup on an external drive. It's incredibly easy to get an older version of a file back using Time Machine. This really saved me when lightening struck the house and fried my Mac. When I was setting up the new Mac it restored everything quickly from the Time Machine backup.

Thanks for the suggestions. My backup is a few months old... but it's something to go on.
