I've been an iPhone owner since launch last week, and I'm absolutely delighted with my new purchase.

Unfortunately, whilst showing off my new toy to a friend last night, it ended up hitting a tiled floor. It's fair to say I was not best pleased

The result is a small area of chipped paint near the silent switch, on what is a very minor dent. Although it's hardly noticeable, I'm a perfectionist and I want my iPhone spotless

I contacted O2 about a repair, and they said it'd be best for me to go to my local store and make my enquires there. There are no Apple stores nearby, so that isn't an option.

I was just wondering whether anybody has been in a similar situation. Is it possible for cosmetic damage to be repaired by Apple or O2? I'm presuming this isn't covered by warranty and I'd have to pay for such a service?

If this can be repaired or replaced, who'd you recommend I go through?

My iPhone is insured through O2.

Thanks in advance.

I found that I somehow slightly chipped the aluminium on the back. I was pissed with myself for a few days for letting it happen, but I've let it slide.

If I were you live with it for a few more days and see if it still does your head in, if so then look at avenues to get a new case. I certainly dont think warranty would cover it tho.
