Has anyone returned any large apple computer back to the apple store because they weren't satisfied? I'm wondering if the customer has to foot the bill for the entire shipping cost, insure it, etc. Or if apple deducts X amount from your refund and gives you a shipping label?

If you bought it from Apple's online store and you are within 14 days of the purchase Apple will pay for shipping. Why are you dissatisfied?

If it's a Apple brick and mortar store you're paying for the shipping and will need to contact the store for an authorization also I believe there will be a 10% restocking fee in addition to the shipping fees.

These are questions you should have researched prior to buying.

Apple no longer has a restocking fee I believe.

Is there a source for this or is it from personal experience?

I'm dis-satisfied because I'm unable to daisy chain my audio interface and my hard drive off the FireWire port with errors in my audio software. I was able to to this for 10 months straight on my 13" MacBook Pro without a hitch. Something must be different about the FireWire chipset on the iMac or in the way it handles traffic. Either way it makes it unusable for me.

Hi!

TNT just picked up my 27" i7 iMac today. I don't think I have to pay for the shipping costs. Check out the returns info on your apple account. The whole amount seems planned being credited back to my visa-account.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the money back?

Apple gave me a return shipping label, pre-paid. They said after they get it, it's about 3-5 days for the process to complete. Give the bank another couple days, and I'd say within a week you should have a refund.

Good to know. My iMac is being sent from Norway though, so I guess it'll take longer than that. Will I get some sort of notification when they receive/approve it?
