Actually discounts at launch aren't impossible. It's only impossible for the flagship product - the iPhone, because every iPhone launch always sees demand outstrip supply.

I'd say a $50 gift card with the new 12.9 iPad Pro at Best Buy counts as a discount at launch.

It WAS discounted at launch by $30. Not too bad given you get another $14 back via membership and an extended warranty.
