160GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
ATI Radeon X1800/256mb (BTO 512)

Just wondering if I should expect something like that by spring 07.......

So... are you saying Santa Rosa is they're next chip after Merom? When does Penryn come into play? Is Santa Rosa Quad Core?

I'm not buying a MBP until they're Quad Core.

yikes, I think thats asking for a lot. 4 cores, 4 gb or ram, what are you looking to do on this beast?

I am going for the first merom 17incher in august, after that, I'll give it a year at least before I think of upgrading/selling that mbp.

and from what I hear, santa rosa will allow for almost instant boot-up/down. No more sleep function, just on and off, and it remembers everything on your desktop after you turn it on again. pretty cool

Well, I don't need any computer right now. That's why i'm able to wait for Quad Core. I only get a new computer every 3 years or so, so I want it to last.

I got my G4 Tower in the summer of 2004, so the summer/fall of 07 would be perfect, if they're out by then.

I'm not very familiar with the Intel Roadmap. When will there be a Quad Core mobile chip?
