Hello all,

Sorry if duplicated, my search skills didn't come up with anything.

If I try 14 and decide to revert/restore to 13, can I then restore a backup from iCloud? or will it be gone, replaced by a 14 iCloud backup? I would backup to my laptop (MacBook Pro) but I don't seem to have enough room on the MBP due to all the photos, etc.

You should be able to revert back to 13 as long as Apple is still signing it. However, you need to make sure you have good backup. Unload some of those photos to an external hard drive and backup to your Mac. I personally do not trust iCloud backups and have had problems restoring from them. Never a problem restoring from my Mac though.

THanks chscag. I am using iCloud Photo Library optimized, but it has 106GB in it due to downloads over time. I'm not sure how to go back to only thumbnails downloaded.

Well the answer is it will have to be a local backup. If your device backs up to iCloud with iOS 14, your iCloud backup is for iOS 14 now, I don't think it keeps the older backup of older OSs.

alright. Thanks folks. I can't seem to get my iPhone to back up to my MacBook for some reason. I get an error that there is not enough space on my MacBook, even though I have 308GB free and only 76GB of data on my iPhone. Ugh.
