Can anyone help. I know this is the Mac forum and I am on a PC running windows Vista however all my googling seemed to end up here!

I am in the UK using the UK iTunes store and after a nightmare actually downloading and installing iTunes yesterday my iPod (my first one a 5th Gen 16GB Nano) arrived this morning and I went to buy some tunes and I keep getting the error listed in the title:

Could not Purchase *SongTitle* An Unknown Error Occured (-48)
There was an error in the iTunes Store Please try later.

This is all a bit frustrating as i want to get started and I can't!

Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Mel

I've had this happen to me occasionally, it is just something wrong on the store's end. There's nothing you can do but wait.

Word of advice though, iTunes is rarely the cheapest place to get songs anymore. Try amazon.co.uk's mp3 department. The songs are usually cheaper and the software'll drop them into iTunes (they'll work on your iPod.)

agreed amazon = cheaper therefore better and mp3 is universally used so you can use them anywhere
