Greetings all!

I posted this problem over on the mac gaming thread and had no response, so I'm beginning to think that I may have a hardware, as opposed to a software, problem on my hands:(

I downloaded the Quake 4 demo and have been unable to get the first hanger level to load. The game will hang and go back to the main menu. Also when trying to cycle to the next available weapon, the game just returns to the main menu.

As no-one has commented on a Quake 4 demo bug, neither on this forum or on the the web, I fear that this may have uncovered a hardware fault.

The hardware test comes up with nothing, and repairing permissions on the hard drive doesn't change anything either.

So I throw this out to the much more experienced users of the mac rumors community - what could be wrong?

If you want to test to see if it is a hardware problem: Set up a new user, re-doanload and install the game. If it works under a different user account you may just need to re-install.

The mystery continues

I made up a new user account and installed the Quake 4 demo again... to no avail:( The same darn thing keeps happening again...

What could be causing this?

download the demo from another website and try it again or check the md5 if they offer one.
