If it's a 3D sensor on the front of a phone for face authentication, Devlin says the Metalenz system can eliminate the need for a bulky camera notch jutting into the screen, like the one in current iPhones.

Not exactly. Only when improving tech can put cameras and sensors under the screen. The Metalenz might help, but it won't replace the camera needed for selfies and FaceTime (and Zoom I guess et al).
