Could use some advice

I'll try to keep it short. Been with my droid 2 for two years, ready for an upgrade. Have tried CM 7 on it but the phone still loves to freeze up and restart on me, so I'm looking for a new two-year contract phone (Verizon). Basically interested in using the phone for web browsing, and storing some music/videos for entertainment. Leaning towards the GS3 (due to the micro sd slot) but do you guys have any other recommendations on a phone to buy? And has android improved since 2.3.4 (which has been very lousy for me).

Agreed, wait for the new Nexus's, or get a Note II.
