Dear God, no.

But remember when you couldn't remember something, and you'd think about it until you remember? Now, Google is your friend.
Or when I was a kid, back in the 80s, you'd actually have to remember phone numbers.

So no, if I didn't have it, personally and business-wise, I'd be screwed.

I had generic Nokia, Samsung & Sony Ericsson feature/camera/music/whatever phones prior to March 16th, 2008(my iDay. :D)
Back then, a mobile was just a phone/text & very infrequent browsing(to check the odd sports score) device.
My PSP and 30GB iPod Video were the objects of 'desire', before they too became unloved and just 'used' devices.
With the iPhones I've had(first gen and now the 3G), I've not stopped playing with them. Besides the phone & text features, the browsing, music, Facebook, and now Twitter(plus other apps), I'm addicted.
Can't go a few hours, without a uncontrollable urge to check Twitter, Facebook, emails, etc.
I have a vibrant(real world) social life, but I don't know what I'd do in those times of boredom, chilling out, without my iPhone, lol.:D

I used to only carry a cell phone for emergencies but since getting the iPhone, I use it all the time for the other features. I couldn't live without it for any length of time, Apple has turned me into a tech addict.

Indeed, me too. Never gave too hoots about the mobile, let alone the smartphone blogosphere/market, pre-iPhone.
evers since January 2007, I've become a tech-head - constantly browsing all the well known tech sites, YouTube, blogs & forums, keeping up with news, rumors and stuff.

someone help me?

okay.
so my iphone will turn on, but it is stuck at the apple logo, then eventually it will go to a lighted up black screen.

I try to connect it to my computer, but my computer or itunes will not detect it.
also, i tried to put it into dfu mode, but it will not go into dfu mode.
i also checked for water damage by putting it in rice for 2 days, but it still will not turn on. can anyone help me?

i will send money to whoever gives me the correct answer.

it's jailbroken so i have to restore it for my warranty to be in effect again, but since my computer or itunes won't detect it, i can't restore it. so this is why i won't go to apple for help.

putting it in rice doesn't check for water damage. It may help to fix water damage. Your sensors would red if you had water damage.

First open iTunes and connect your USB cord to your computer, but do not plug it into your iPhone. Then press and hold the home button on your phone while connecting the USB cord into your iPhone, while continuing to hold down the home button. Then click restore in iTunes.

okay.

I could and have had to before when I was getting it replaced as there is no Apple store in my area. My dad works in Sydney, so I gave him my phone to replace, didn't get it back for a week.

I had to go back to my old phone K810i and it wasn't all to bad, just hated texting people and ended up calling a lot more cause I can't be bothered typing on those annoying keypads.

i really don't know if i could, i would need some device to replace it that would let me check my email/tweet/facebook all the time, and i wouldn't be able to go back to a device that didn't have a qwerty keyboard, i tried to use someones phone with a numberpad, could NOT text on it at all! :p

Not for nothing.

Slap me with enough cold hard cash and I'd consider it.

I couldn't. I'd be bored as heck on the crapper.

LOL - I almost peed! Time to to to the can with my iPhone!

I could....but then I'd have to get a chunky alarm and I would rarely check my e-mail.

And in the instances where I am going somewhere...I'd have to print out the directions.

And being in a boring class with no iphone can kill a guy.

Yes and Yes
I remember living and dying by my 'Day Timer' & a nationwide skytel pager.
Could You Give Up Your iPhone For A Week?
Sure, my Palm 650 still works :p and if we can't have a 'smart phone' at all. I guess I'd finally catch up on all those maxim and FHM magazines laying around the bathroom :D

the first 2 days are tough but after that, it wasn't a big deal.
I realized how much time I waste on a a daily basis staring at the screen

When you bring an item in for repair, apple has no no legal right to look at your personal stuff, or even turn on your phone, etc. when you bring it in. It is perfectly safe to bring it in now.
p.s. Next time, post a new thread, not in a forum completely off topic.
