I can remember the time when Apple released the world first 17" notebook, the PowerBook G4 17"

in 2003. That was a real sensation in that days and I am still missing it because it and it successors were unbeatable for productive work.

So why no 15" iPP? If they solve the problem with the indirect pointing device this would be a killer. Still it would be much lighter and thinner with nearly the same footprint than the 12.1" PoweBook G4 that was released the same time as the 17" (3cm thick and 2.1 kg heavy). That was the "ultra portable" computer in that days....

I would love to see larger iPads, even if they’re more for desktop type of use. After using the 12.9” for several weeks it no longer feels comically large like it did at first.

I'm sure Apple have worked on iPads over 12.9" - mirroring something like the MS Surface. It would be a decision on which OS they would run. I dont think iOS would be a good use of the display at anything over what we have already. They would need multiple split screen (4 or even 6 splits) for any "real" multitasking for something that would sit permanently on a desktop.

I think a 15" iPad Pro would be great for the office or at home, IOS 11 is going to make the iPad even better for productivity this year. If Apple were to introduce a 15" iPad Pro and add more "Pro" features i think it would be great.
Each device has it's own use (at least for me it does) i still love to use a Mac which is why I've got an iMac as my main desktop, the MacOS experience is (at least to me) the best desktop experience out there, however the iPad Pro is moving towards (in a big way) replacing the need for a laptop, that goes for many people out there as well.

I'm waiting for IOS 11 to see if the iPad Pro will replace my 2011 MacBook Pro, if it does i will not be updating my MacBook Pro and will instead look at upgrading my iMac next year (rumours of a redesign for next year).

My $.02 is that anything larger is just going to be too unwieldy and too niche for Apple to consider it. There may be some people who like the idea of it, but between the higher price, and the limited appeal, they'll never get their money's worth.

That's what people said about first gen 12.9" when it came out, now 2nd gen is out and already out of stock everywhere

15" would be great. If people are willing to travel with a laptop, they could easily substitute a 15" iPad. (Depending on function and app needs of course).

For a desktop iOS device I would say 18- 20" would be better

At some point too big is simply too big, and I think anything larger then 12.9" is unwieldy.

Personally I'd like to see an iJumboTron. Something I could play games on with my family, like Twister.

I disagree with the idea that bigger is unwieldy. If you try to use a iPhone 6 as if it is a iPhone 5 ... that's unwieldy too.

And you can't hold a 9.7 as if it's a 7.9 mini either.

The point to me is that we adapt and use devices in the way they feel comfortable. In my mind there are plenty of useful scenarios for a 15" iPad. It's less of a load to lug than a MBPro, and people carry those around all the time.

A 15" iOS device would be amazing on the couch, on a music stand, on a podium, on a desk, on an airplane tray, etc.
Just don't expect to be able to hold it like you hold your iPad mini.

I think 15 would definitely have a market

I’ve said that before

But 12.9 is enough iPad for me...

Imagine the iPad Pro 12,9 format without bezels.
One sheet of glass.
This is my absolute dream for the 12.9. Many people say they like bezels so their fingers don’t obstruct the screen, but I honestly don’t care. The whole front of the iPad as a screen would be incredibly cool.

It’s already ridiculously big....

The 12.9 iPad would be as large as I want to go for an iPad. Although, there would be a niche category for those who would want a larger display, the 12.9 iPad Pro already primarily stationary as is.

I find my 9.7 to be perfect for my usage. 12.9 is already too big for me. I'd rather carry more substantial and flexible MacBook at that point.
