* DISCLAIMER: by running tests like this, you put the CPU and cooling system under high load. There is always a chance that something will break. Do not do this unless you are sure.

Run it with options:

test: small
repetitions: infinite
instances: 2 (because we have 2 cores)

Here, I have a 2.33 GHz non-SR 17" MBP, and after a while the fans go to 6000 rpm both, and the temperature stabilizes within 71-74 C (160-165 F).

My friend did the same on 2.4 GHz SR 17" MBP, and he gets 88-90 C (190-194 F).

How are your SR MBP results?

Please wait at least 3 minutes to let the system reach stable temperature, and also check again after 10 minutes to verify it. My friend just told that his CPU A reached 102 C after 10 minutes.

How do you think, should we exchange his MBP? I also suspect that the case has higher-than-usual idle operating temperature.
