hey guys!

we´re sitting in school and we want to play counter strike 1.6 via lan.
but we don´t know how to create a server via mac...!
does we need a tool?

please help us...its so boring and we want to play!

thx and greetings!

Well since CS 1.6 doesn't run under Mac are y'all playing CS:S or playing CS1.6 under Windows? Is there a reason you don't want to just run a "listen" server from the computer one of the players is using to play the game?

Personally I'd say just grab any old computer, install Linux, tuck it in a corner or closet (in the dorm networking closet works best) and run the linux dedicated server. This way you can leave the server running all the time and not depend on a particular person to start it up.

One advantage to this would be finding other CS players in your dorm/apartment you don't know about. Back in my last college apartment before graduation I did this and ended up having LAN games with a group of folks I never met in person. It ended up working especially well when the internet was acting flaky.
