Hi everybody,

can anybody help me with setting up my PS3 controller for Counter Strike? The controller is recognized by the game (resp. OSX), but doesn't really work the way it should, random function, firing by itself until the ammo is empty etc. I tried to set up a nice control with the extra program "Gamepad Companion", too, but it also isn't really working...

Is anybody here playing CS on the Mac with a PS3 controller? If yes, it would be nice if he could give me a hint how to set up the controller the best way possible. (Mabye, if also using "Gamepad Companion", providing me his settings.) Or do I need to buy the Logitech gamepad which looks like the X-Box one instead? (which seems to be officially supported) Thanks a lot for your help in advance!!!

I strongly recommend you get used to a mouse instead. It will be so frustrating to play with a controller pad vs people with keyboard and mice.

Hi nizz,

thanks a lot for your answer - already read this before and you are probably correct concerning the disadvantage with a controller vs. people with keyboard and mice. However, I only have an Apple Magic Mouse which doesn't seem to be a real good choice either ...? I'll try it again anyway. Thanks for your post.

If you do try a mouse again, make sure that you do it with mouse acceleration OFF. For me, playing with mouse acceleration is just as frustrating as playing with a controller pad.

Hi nizz,

thanks for the hint - I'll try that out. Not that sure at the moment if the Magic Mouse is capable for real play without a real scroll wheel etc., but if yes, I'll surely figure it out. Thanks again.

EDIT: Just tried with mouse acceleration OFF, really already works better. Thanks for the hint!
