A while back I installed CrossOver, excited about the possibility of playing CS:S in OS X. Steam installed fine, but when I launched CS:S a black screen simply came up. When you moved the mouse around to the spot where the menu choices are, you can hear the "clicking sound" that it makes when you usually do. When you click one of these, you can hear a menu pop up, so obviously the game is working, the video simply isn't. When I posted on this forum about it, the general response was that CrossOver was still beta and that's why it didn't work.
Well anyway, the other day I installed Windows XP via Boot Camp on my MacBook. One of the first things I did was install Steam and CS:S excited to finally be able to play. However, I'm getting the exact same problem I did when I tried it on CrossOver. I can even see the loading screen when you launch the game (complete with the background picture) but when you actually get to the menu, the screen goes black.
Any suggestions/ideas here? This seems like a problem with the MacBook's graphics, but I've heard of many people playing the game, or at least being able to see it, on MacBooks.
