Country code to all of my contacts

Suddenly I found all of my contacts phone numbers that did not have a country code, to be using a specific country code (+01) which is different from the one I use for my country.
How can I change the country code to all of my contacts automatically?
And why did this change happen in the first place?

Try changing it in Settings,General,Language and Region.

Ive never changed that, its the same from the beggining
Region: my country
Calendar: Gregorian
and in the preferred language order i have English and my native Language
what else is there to check?
