Just got my new shuffle today. I was excited to see buttons again when Jobs announced it last week, so I decided to get one despite having a 3rd gen shuffle that has been perfect for running.

The player is great, but it is small. I have medium to large hands and it is a bit hard to control while holding it, it's better to clip it on then control it.

The rear clip is hard to use without hitting the |<< back button.

The podcasts get lumped into the root dir when synced instead of in their own podcast playlist as with the 3rd gen shuffle which I really liked.

All in all, I miss the inline controls and will be using my 3rd gen shuffle earbuds with the 4th gen shuffle for on the fly controls while running. Wouldnt have bought it if I had known that, but it never hurts to add an ipod to the collection, especially for $50.

I really loved the second generation shuffle and still use it from time to time when I drive short distances. I picked up my new shuffle last week and it really does bother me that I can't comfortably open the clip without pressing the back button like you mentioned. I feel like if I do this too many times, the pressure could damage the back button. Hmm..

Hmm waiting for mine to come in the mail.....always hear about pushing the back button when clipping on but is it really that bad to the point that the button may break? If so that really sucks, it does come with at least 1 year warranty right?

I guess if it lasts even just a year its not to bad as I will get tons of use out of it with my nearly daily exercising. Shrugs.

I doubt it would break off. I've been getting used to it, you can get an ok grip on it slightly to the side of the clip.

It's covered by warranty anyways for the first year.

I got a set of original 3rd gen iPod shuffle headphones with remote and it is great. Solves the hand controls for running
