Couple Problems

I own the last revision of the 15" Powerbook right before the switch to the MacBook Pro and I am having some issues. Nothing big, just annoying.

Greasy Keyboard-
When I type, the keys have a greasy/oily feeling to it and I can feel it on my fingers. I do wash my hands regularly, and clean the Powerbook with a damp, warm paper towel every other day and the keys still feel greasy right after. Any suggestions on cleaning? How is iKlear

Power Cord Cap-
When I dont plug the Powerbook into the wall, I usually cap the end of the cord with the plastic cap that came with laptop. However, I lost the cap. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement for it?

I am on the high school yearbook staff and I am in charge of making the press badges. I recently got PhotoBooth and will be getting a iSight from my uncle and plan to use the iSight to take the photos for the ID's. Would the iSight deliver adaquate quality for a ID picture on a 4x3 ID card?

about the keyboard...not so sure what is causing that oily feeling. iskin makes a nice keyboard protector, might look into that. that way you are typing on the silicon membrane.

about the power cap...it's nothing to be worried about, but i understand your concern...i'd mail you mine if that was feasible :rolleyes: as for finding another, i can only imagine bumping one off someone that has thrown theirs in the bottom of a drawer

about the isight...if im correct. the isight has the resolution of 640x480. should be plenty good for an ID card.

not sure if this resolves most of your issues, but it was worth a shot. :eek:

I will add the iSkin protector to my shopping list, along with iLife 06' and the Widescreen iPod:mad: . I'll try and call AppleCare to see if they can give me a replacement cap. As for the iSight, I will take it for a test run.

To answer a question about the iSight. Why not use a real camera?
Its just cooler, im planning on putting two school desks facing each others, then hooking up the Powerbook to a screen, and then I just sit on one end, the person having his picture taken on the other. PLUS, you get to hear that cool beeping sound from PhotoBooth.
 
Seriously, you don't need to worry about the cap at all. It probably comes with a cap on to prevent damage when it's shipping from china through who knows what kind of eletrical, atmospheric, and kinetic conditions. I don't know a single person who kept that cap and I've never heard of a single problem with the plug that a cap would've prevented. You can probably opbtain one if you really try, but I'm telling you, you reeaaally don't need to worry about.

I got Photobooth as a torrent from some site that I cant find any more. The app is very small and is just sitting in my iPod, waiting for a decent camera.
