General Couple questions jailbreaking. Any difference in them?

Sorry newer to this world and sorry if these are simple questions. Is there any difference in different jailbreaks meaning by which group or person does it?? Is xyz better the zyx in terms of the jailbreak?

And why is there a lot of stress over 8.1.1 ?? Do they not jailbreak each version of the ios??

In my experience, there is usually only one trusted jailbreak that pretty much everyone in the community uses. For iOS 6.x.x it was evasi0n jailbreak and for iOS 7.x.x-8.1 it is Pangu.

The current jailbreak is Pangu so that is the one you want.

The reason for the 8.1.1 stress is that Apple fixed the security vulnerability that allowed the jailbreak to work. If you have updated to 8.1.1 you will not be able to jailbreak. They might release a jailbreak for 8.1.1 but that is never known for sure. They might wait until 8.2 (if there is one) or iOS 9. As users, we never really know for sure.

Here's a good example of what lukejc1 means…

A jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 did not come until AFTER the jailbreak for 7.0, 7.0.1. If you had missed the jailbreak for iOS 6 and were running those two later versions then you were out of luck while all the people on 6.1.2 and below had been jailbroken since February of 2013. The iOS 7 jailbreak didn't happen until Christmas 2013 and the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 didn't come immediately after that either.

So, no one knows what will happen. Sometimes the jailbreakers will hold an exploit until it's worth jailbreaking, particularly if it's close to a new release of iOS. Why tip off Apple and blow a chance to jailbreak the new version of iOS by using an exploit to jailbreak a late release?

It's likely that 8.1.1 will be jailbroken, but again, you never know.

depending on how had the jailbreak is they might wait especially if they think 8.2 is just around the corner they might skip 8.1.1
