interested in buying the new tomtom app, im running an iphone 3gs on ios4 and was wondering what all your opinions are.

1. is it really a one off fee? where usually if you buy a tomtom you haveto pay a yearly £35 subscription fee.

2. is it smooth running? does the iphone handle the software well?

3. is it really worth the £52.99?

1. One time fee for the app itself. There is an extra fee per year if you buy Live Traffic.

2. Yes, it runs well on the 3GS once the GPS signal is acquired, which isn't instantaneous like on the iPhone 4.

3. I'd say it's worth it. It's only $40, whereas Navigon, the main competitor, is $80. Although, those are the North American versions, and American prices... Not sure how the pricing is comparatively for the European versions of Tom Tom and Navigon.

Coming from a previous iPhone 3GS owner, I can say that the TomTom app works great! I used it for a trip up to Boston, it worked flawlessly.

The TomTom app is worth the money.
It will run smoothly on the 3GS.
The subscription to live traffic has come down to £22 per year, the live traffic information is an excellent part of the app, it works extremely well, and fast, it will give you an option of a faster route around traffic when found.

i cant say how smooth it is on the 3gs because i didn't have tomtom when i had that phone. the iphone 4 though it runs perfectly smooth.

Never had a problem with it, good investment in my opinion and yes a one time fee.
