What do you think about the removal of 3D Touch in iPhone XR, all while increasing the base price over a regular iPhone?
No one asked for Fa1l-ID or the ugly notch. 3D Touch was a standard feature. Removal is totally unaccepable.
Do they take consumers for fools?

I have an an 8 plus and before that a 7 plus... I’ve rarely used the 3D Touch lol so I’m not too worried about losing it. It’s the model I’m going with.

Love it! I hate 3d touch, can't stand it. I can never get 3d touch to register versus long press, especially if I'm moving/walking or trying to do it without really focusing. 3d touch is just long press anyway, but marketed as something different. I'm actually disappointed that the rumors weren't true that they were ditching it on the OLED models.

I like the notch as well, never understood the hate for it. The notch is just a bezel, but more useful as the sides aren't wasted. Full screen video, if set for the correct aspect ratio, doesn't go all the way to the notch.

I use it all the time and will not go backwards to a phone that removes features.

It's really sad to see Apple kill 3D Touch on the Xr, it's one of the main reasons for which I wouldn't get it and honestly, it's the nicest since of them 3 IMO.

Technically they didn’t remove it from the base phone. The SE didn’t have it either and it was the same processor as the 6s. At lease you’re getting a bigger phone and the same processor as the Xs and the Xs Maxx. It’s not like you’re paying that price and getting the same processor as the 8/8+.

But you will be losing 1080 resolution that you had prior on the 8+ and 7+ ;)

I didn't really dig into the specifications of the new screen, but Phil Schiller called it the best LCD ever on a phone. He said it was so good they gave it the special name "Liquid Retina" so it must be pretty good.

From your post, it is clear why you hate 3D Touch.
1- You don't know how to use it. It is not a long press. You are supposed to press harder into the screen.
2- You don't know that you can disable it by going into Settings, so it has no effect on you.

I mean, are we really supposed to engage in meaningful discussion with someone who calls it "Fail ID"?

Nah.

Apple seemingly worked around that, there still long press for a lot of the features and adjustments/settings. Not to mention, it likely helped with the reduction of the price point starting at $750 with the removal 3D Touch.

I’m perfectly content Touch ID has been *permanently* removed from the current iPhones, Face ID has been absolutely stellar in almost every way for me.

Oh I know how to use it, it's not rocket science. I just find it highly redundant versus long press. I've also had it disabled for months now. It does affect me in that it increases the cost of hardware and R&D, and IMO wastes developer time and effort. Just my personal opinion.

Same. I could have lived with PPI and LCD over LED. But Apple made me choose the XS.

One extremely useful function of 3D Touch, and one I use all the time is pressing on the keyboard space bar to quickly move the cursor like a trackpad. I'm not relinquishing that.

They will sell, and they will believe they did the right thing... It is so "unacceptable" that their customers (yes fools) will buy anyway, and they know very well that!

Nope but you can try with one that calls it Fa1l-ID ;)
