covering keyboard when closed?

You don't have to but it's a good idea. It keeps the oils from transferring from the keys to your screen. Also, while handling the closed book, it prevents the keys from impressing the screen.

I just kept the foam insert that shipped with my MBP. When I travel, I put it between the screen and keyboard in case there is any pressure.
Have you tried a keyboard cover like KB Covers?
I have a KB Cover on my macbook and it works great...of course, you need to clearn it every so often with soap and water. But it keeps the stuff off my screen and its much easier than clearning the actual keyboard itself.

I got a great protection pack from http://www.aussiebag.com/, and it includes a nice lint free cloth to protect the keyboard.
The sleeve fits the MB like a glove, and it, in turn, fits very nicely into my Spirebags laptop bag.

How do you like the aussie one? I have been looking at getting a sleeve for a while, so this sounds good? And is the little keyboard cover pretty thin? thin enough so that it protects, but is not to think so it applies pressure upwards when closing the macbook?
