Coworker cannot send iMessages anymore, only RCS/SMS

I have a coworker that's in a group message with several of us. We all have iPhones. A few days ago she texted me separately saying she was having problems reading or sending messages in the group. When she texted me, it came out as SMS instead of iMessage.

We checked all her settings and everything seems to look like iMessage is on. Is there anything else we can try? And we've restarted her phone and made sure it was up to date.

And I don't know if she started a new group or Apple started it, but now there's a second group where she can communicate in but it's only SMS/RCS.

Have you turned iMessage off and on again? And logged out (in the iMessage settings only) of the Apple account if it is connected to one?

I believe so.

We tried turning it off and on. But before that, I noticed she was not signed into iMessage. She signed in, reboot, turned off and on. Still getting SMSs, even between her and I.
