Hello,

I am new to the forum, i actually get a lot of good information from here but is the first time wrote!

I have a mac pro 2009 that i got it upgraded to 2010 with the obvious hack and the cpu s that needed.
I had problems with it for many months, and just today i realize after many many tests that it was the CPU B was failing..
I took of the cpu and start my mac, it is just fine!!It runs great and the northern bridge temps that was previously 70 C they are 35 now!
All the temperatures on the mac are pretty great, but after i took the cpu off, the heat sink A fun is just running like crazy, i can't even have music anymore..
So first thing ofcorse was to reset the SMC, but nothing, after i reset the PRAM but still nothing. Now i have huge fan noiz after 2-3 minutes i am in the os but the temperatures are great, i really don't get it.

Anyone can help me guys?I am sound engineer and i can't work like that, and i can't have apple service because of the hack.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks you a lot!!

I thought so and run some tests with the heat sink b on and off but is the same thing!
Is that for sure, because i was hoping to let the cpu buy for later?
Thanks again m8!!!

Can you confirm that this happens, indeed?
I am sorry that i have second thoughts but buying cpu its not that easy for me right now.

Yes, from all I've ever read on the subject (here mostly, but other places too) that is exactly what will happen if you boot with CPU B removed.

No way around it from what I understand.
