CPU running hot and loud?

Does i7 run hot and loud compared to i5? Is it a big difference? I come from an i7 PC and looking into purchasing and imac with i7 to future proof. I plan to run office documents and some photo editing and music playlists etc. more on a personal and hobby level. But I like speed. I like the quality in pictures and video.

Having done graphic design always opt for the i7 and yet to have any problem with overheating.
