I've just replaced my old CPUs and installed new CPUs Intel Xeon X5690 and ran Geekbennch and here are the results https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/2739066 Could anyone have a look and advise if it's okay? and while it was running intensively I can see right light blinking as shown in the below photo, is that normal or it indicates a problem? The red light normally doesn't flash when running the machine normally. I mean how to know that I've done the right thing and applied correct amount of thermal paste for example?

Below is also the Macs Fan Control results of normal use not during benchmark. Also what is the best way to track the CPU temperature?

the geekbench score is very off putting and there is likely something wrong with one or both of the CPU’s or the way you installed them. Normally, a dual cpu X5690 geekbench score is around 25-30,000. There is a set of those red diagnostic lights that indicate different issues. If you can find the exact one flashing, it should tell you the issue.

I've checked and I found that I didn't tighten the heatsink enough until the end so I tightened them without opening them. Now on Macs Fan Control this is the result. What do you think? I see that now CPU A is the higher one and B is lower, is that normal? and what in terms of the temperature of both is this is a normal temperature? and shall I run any tests Or shall I open the heatsinks and do the process all over again?

Replied.

Do another geekbench test before anything else. See if its in the normal range for multithreading (25-30,00) Those are much more normal cpu temperature results and that was at least half the issue, did the blinking lights stop? If not, then you should find out which one the diagnostic lights is so we can find the actual issue. If anything, I’m guessing either you didn't apply enough thermal paste, Or one of your heatsink screws is either too loose or it wasn't inserted properly.

Thanks. I just did another one and no red lights were blinking and the CPU fans were kinda running normal not boosting like first time and here are the results https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/2740306

If you could advise what you think?

This is the Macs Fan Control current temperature:

You are using geekbench 5.
25-30k multicore results are in the previous versions (3 and 4, iirc).

Edit: Temps are fine in your last post. Nothing wrong there.

Yes...for GeekBench 3 or 4. For Geekbench 5, which he most likely tested, results are not impressive but ok.

Yes...as A gets his air pre-heated by B as well as the northbridge.

These are the results of GeekBench 4 : https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/15596792

and these are results of GeekBench 5:

Could you check and let me know what you think? And advise me if I should do anything? Thank you.

6600 for GeekBench 5 looks way better than what you posted first! :)

No need to do anything. Results are just in range. CPU-temps as well.

Sorry about that, wasn’t aware they changed scoring in geekbench 5, everything looks good in the geekbench 4 bench, nothing to worry about

So after a couple of days since the upgrade. Are these temperatures good?
