I was just wondering if users with the new SR Macbook were still experiencing CPU whine? My 2.16 has it and I can't stand it.

AFAIK, all core duos and core 2 duos have it. However, it is a very high-pitched sound, and I've noticed that "older" (over 30, approximately) people cannot hear the sound. But for those of us who can hear it, yes, it's very annoying.

Believe me, there isn't any.
The whine was one of the reasons I returned my iMac.
But the Macbook is quiet...The only time I hear it making any noise is when im doing something graphically intensive.

ive had 3 2.16ghz macbooks (2 were exchanged within the first 2 weeks). the first two did not have CPU whine that I noticed, but this 3rd one does. i just had the MLB replaced last week and my average temperature has dropped by 5-7 degrees C, but the CPU whine is still there. maybe its coming from the power supply of the mobo? high CPU usage eliminates the noise. who knows. geez.
