I was told that I can either send in my iphone 3g for a $150 screen replacement (but it takes about 4 weeks apple said) or I can go to the genius bar, and get a refurb 16gb for $299. My question is, has anyone done this? And if so, they don't ask you to turn in your old broken iphone do they? If so, its just not worth it I think.

If its so bad you cant take it then yes it would be worth it. You will get the warranty same as your original iphone 3g. The refurbs are great. They have new casings on them and work great. I had 2 refurbs for my first gen iphone. I havent had a replacement 3g and hope i dont have too. You a cop?

Yes, I am..

But my question was, do I have to "turn in" my current cracked screen iphone + the $299 or just the $299?
