Typically, I make decisions on my own, but I'm super torn on what to do so need your advice

Even with the screen protector, the screen cracked on the bottom left corner of my iPad after I dropped it. Totally my fault.

It's a 10.5" Pro, 2017, Wi-Fi only 64gb model. Its slightly more than 2 years, so sadly applecare just ended.

I use it mostly for browsing, listening to videos and taking notes for my business. Taking notes is arguably my favorite part of it, I love using the Apple Pencil. Storage is not a factor for me, nor do I need LTE

What would you do?

Right now - I'm leaning towards getting another used pro, but I'd love your opinion.

Either go down the home/bank insurance route or purchase a refurb 2018 iPad Pro from around $530. You’d need the new 2nd gen Pencil but if you have the money, I think it’s a worthy upgrade over the previous one.

You can sell your iPad advertised as damaged and the 1st gen pencil to try and recoup some of the money you’ll spend for the new iPad.

Purchase the new 2020 iPad Pro. You will cherish everything about it.

Either get a used one or treat yourself to a new model if you can afford it at the moment.

If I were you I think I’d try to find a good deal on a 2018 11 inch model. Of course you’d have to get the new pencil for it though, so the Air would probably serve you well if you’d rather stick with your current pencil.

take a look at how you purchased your device/Apple Care. Some credit cards provide free extensions to warranty plans.

unfortunately don’t have that card anymore...great idea though

As much as I love it, I think it might be a bit overkill for what I’d use it for

Flip a coin and make up your own mind
love that idea

I think this might be a great path to go...a bit more future proof and I love the way it looks...may be overkill for my needs though?

Buy a 2018 Refurb. IMO, best bang for your $$. Unfortunately, as of now, it looks like all of the low-end/less expensive ones are gone.

I’d look for refurbished 2018 11 pro with 64 GBC. Sell the iPad. You’ll likely get evought to buy the 11

It’s overkill for me too but it’s soooii nice. Worth it.

New Screen protector came in, I applied it, and it hides the crack pretty well, almost can’t see it. Will use it like this for now and if it starts bothering me that will revisit this again
