So,

I'm debating going to the Genius Bar with this - it's not a HUGE issue but it bothers me.

When I hold the Iphone in one hand and squeeze my palm and fingers a little harder it makes a cracking noise inside like there is plastic hitting against each other...

If this is potentially a reason I can get a new iphone i would be very happy.

ANyone else have this?

I had a case for a while - lately I've been enjoying it without a case but it's always done it. I guess there's more than one iphone that does this.

Damn.

Well stop squeezing it then. It's not a chew toy.

I couldn't put it better myself. This is almost tantamount to saying, "I ran over my phone with the car, and now it doesn't work. Why?"

If it crackles, don't squeeze it then, you numbnuts. It's a tiny space full of electronics that are separated by very fine tolerances. What did you think would happen when you squeezed it?! If I was the Apple Genius you told that story to, I'd take your phone off you and kick you out the shop.

Some people worry me.

Wow - you guys take things literally.

I don't sit here squeezing the f-in thing to see if it'll break. I've noticed it a few times when I had to hold the iphone tighter at moments and was curious does anyone else have this issue.

Excuse me for asking a question in a thread where I expect help or tips and not douche bag responses.

People like you worry me.

Dang it all if you haven't got me squeezing mine now as well to see if it crackles. I worry me now.

Yea... and our glass cups break when I drop them on the ground... what should I do?

That's what your post sounds like.

I apologise on behalf of my fellow MR posters (MRites?). I'm sure the rest of us know what you mean by 'squeezed' (ie not crushed).

This thread is still going in the funny thread titles thread though :D

In any case, if your case crackles, i'd take it in for a check. Compact electronic devices don't crackle when squeezed lightly.

Mine makes more of a snarl, like a cornered bear.

Actually, mine has a slight click when I push one corner. I think just about ANY product has little variations and imperfections like that, but with Apple's minimalist design and fit and finish, you NOTICE those things!

That said, I haven't ruled out asking a Genius about mine... I can sympathize :) But I won't--they'd probably open it up and end up causing a second sound in some other corner!

(Don't mind those who like to complain in other people's threads. It's a thing some people get into.)
