hi all. I just bought a slightly used iPhone 3g (2 days old). But I have noticed that there is something stuck in the headphone port. Looks kinds like a little flake of tabacco. I have tried using compressed air but I can't get it out. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Am i going to get an electric shock if i stick something in there. Seems to close to sticking a fork in a socket haha

no, it won't shock you, but if you're worried about that, use a coated paperclip (in other words, the ones that come in different colors). headphone ports don't exactly carry enough voltage cause harm...

but the paperclip should work. if not, try the sim card remover tool! it's more pointed, so it should loosen or catch the offending article.

if THAT doesn't work, take it to the genius bar, and see what they can do. most probably they won't give you a replacement, but they might crack it open and take it out if you're lucky.
