I went to local apple store to test out safari and itunes together.
I found with every iPhone I tried that iTunes would crashed while using safari.
I played on more than five each doing the same thing. About half way through the song while surfing total shut down of iTunes. I was simply going to espn.com then NFL then sufibg on gizmodo and here. Definately a glitch

I would hope that is fixed in one of the first software updates.

I have never had this problem myself though.

Put it in shuffle mode amd try surfing for awhile and see. I tried on mine and did this also but doing a hard reset fixed it for me.

Did you bring this issue to the attention of anyone at the store? Hopefully, there's some conduit for this sort of information back to Apple so that solutions to these problems are developed sooner rather than later.

I tried to tell them and they said hopefully be fixed in an update. Mine just made it through two songs then occurrd once more. This problem has been posted all over the web in forums. That's why I went to try at the store
if you go to apple.com/feedback is an area to leave comments

i recommend all to go there and let them know of the issue so it xan be addressed soon

Yeah, I'm finding that although iPhone Safari is generally good, it's still very buggy, some issues with it. Really hoping that Apple releases an update very soon....

As stated turn on itunes and play in shuffle...Go to espn and click on nfl while song is playing....Surf there for little bit and then head on over to here

http://www.iphone2die4.com/

play there some and keep surfing I bet it might do it after little while....

Its happened on every one that I have played with. Oh well

After reading over the last few weeks of iTunes and or Safari crashing reports, I decided to do some serious multi-tasking.

With iTunes running, continous browsing on Safari (as well as zooming, landscape mode to portrait and back again) answering and placing several calls and checking voicemail, Iphone performed with out a hiccup.

I did have some intermittent crashes of Safari and Maps during single app use during the week. If you can call returning to the home screen a crash.

All in all a very stable 1.0...I can only imagine how a few software tweeks and more apps will improve the quality of an already great little brick!

Agreed what is so wierd I have had no crashes with Safari at all going back to home screen as some describe...However as stated get the itunes stopping during taxing web pages...Try it on both the edge and wifi and see if it crashes will ya

I am curioius about this problem and it raises a question I have not heard an answer to. While surfing in Safari do you hear music or sounds from websites that have sound?

I am thinking that the crashes could be caused by Safari and Itunes fighting over your sound interface.

I've been doing this for a couple hours each day...

And the only time my phone crashed was in google maps.

All the sounds the systems create should be layered. That would/should take care of and sound interface issues.

espn > NFL will crash safari with ipod playing or not for me. A soft reset or power cycle, whatever you want to call it solves the ipod + safari crash problem for a while for me.

Last night, I was able to listen to about 5 songs while surfing before the ipod stopped playing.
