Hey everyone,

I just got my iPhone last week, all in all love it. I have a few questions I want to make sure is normal or if I have issues with my particular device.

Crashing: Randomly, especially while watching videos or syncing w/iTunes it will crash and show the black screen w/apple logo. Firmware, hardware?

Battery life: I took it off the charger today at 7:00am, by noon i had around 65% battery life left. It was used for probably 15 minutes talk time, google maps, weather and to check email (manually) about 3 times. Is that normal daily life? Seems pretty bad.

Pixel: about a 1/4 inch above the battery bar I can see a pixel of light coming thru. It is at the very edge where the crome and black meet. Seems pretty weird. Its only annoying when in low light, but still...

Thanks

The crashing might be fixed by just doing a restart, I remember when I first got my phone I had this problem and it was suggested tho me that I actually do a physical restart once a week. Update it as well (assuming you don't have it unlocked or hacked) the updates provided some major updates and stability fixes.

The battery life is one thing that I think everyone has a problem with in the beginning since it is a new tech we can't help but play with everything, battery drains faster the more you use it and even faster when using edge/wifi. If you look at how much you actually and it on and actually used it during those 4-5 hours 65% is probably pretty good, means you have another 4-6 hours of doing that stuff left. I use mine fairly regularly and found that after drained teh battery and recharged that battery life went up pretty significantly (I charge every other day now).

The pixel thing is a personal thing, if it bothers you that much you could try to take it back but I don't see a single pixel warranting an exchange or a repair.

as far as pixels go, i believe there have to be a certain number of them out before it will be exchanged

Thanks guys. Your probably right about the battery life, I'll start disabling wifi until i need it and once I'm using it regularly vs constant playing I'm sure it will be fine.

The thing about the pixel is that it’s not on the visible screen itself but on the top right of the black glass directly where the glass and chrome meet. It's not a big issue besides the fact I hate imperfection as much as the next guy :)

well if you are close enough to a store, make an appointment and have them check it out-- the worst thing that can happen is they say no dice, right?
