Anyone having TONS of connectivity issues with their AirPods, specifically when using them for phone calls? So sometimes, I feel like my Bluetooth is bugging out where I connect the AirPods while I am on the phone, and it doesn't switch over. So I then manually tap the "Audio Source" bluetooth icon on the call screen and select the AirPods. Then I just hear silence, despite the phone saying its connected. The caller on the other end just states they hear weird scratching sounds during this ordeal.
Sometimes when double tapping for Siri, rather than the sound coming out of the AirPods, it stops, thinks for a bit, and then sounds the Siri tone over the iPhone speaker.
Then sometimes it is totally muffled when it finally does work for a phone call, and I solve it by taking the AirPod out of my ear, and putting it back into my ear, and randomly that would cause it to work normally again.
I feel like the W1 chip was supposed to solve all of this, but is it just a gimmick at this point?
Other people with the AirPods just think I am making all of this up, when in reality, I am actually having these issues. I plan on taking them into the Apple Store, but from what I hear, they are still totally out, and I wouldn't be able to swap them out for a new pair.
Other Bluetooth devices seem to work just fine on my iPhone, so I just totally doubt its the iPhone but I wouldn't mind having the Apple Store check out the iPhone itself too. My Bluetooth Square reader has no issues connecting, neither does my car. It only seems to be the AirPods.
After restarting the phone, it seems to fix it for maybe one or two phone calls. After that, the ordeal starts all over again!
