Got an overheat message this morning about my 5th gen Time Capsule, then this happened. Any clue on what would cause such an insane noise?

I just pulled the hard drive (screwing up some cables in the process). I'll fire it up outside the TC and see if that was the culprit. Regardless, ordered a new one...

Put the hard drive in an enclosure and its perfectly fine. No noise, mounted without issue.

Your video sounded more like a fan noise to me. Can you start the TC without the drive in it and see if the noise is still there? I know the power supply on these has a cooling fan.
