Creaking MacBook

Hey all-
My MacBook refurb is about a month old now, and has developed a "creaking sound" when i put my hand on the left palm rest, or if the left side (by the ports) is pushed in. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I just take it in to the Apple store? Thanks.

I have noticed this on every single mac I've owned. It's annoying, but nothing to be worried about.

This has never happened to me on any Macs before (previously owned 3). I'm not worried about it functioning properly, it just makes my not-so-cheap computer sound like a Dell.

Because Dells make a creaking noise right? Quit the non-apple computer bashing, its not cool or hip. I have had a number of dells in my day, no creaking.

All Dells I have had have had quality problems, ie, creaking, noises, issues of the sort. Its not non-apple bashing, I have been happy with other computers that were not Apple. So I'll quit my bashing when I see fit, thanks for your opinion though.

Regardless, it is uneccesary to inject something about Dell here. You have problems with Apples, and you have problem with Dells. It is pretty clear that Dell is not alone in this issue and you clearly qualified that with your statement.

Some people have problems with Dells some Apples, some both and some none. If you want to be a jerk and contribute to the "Everything non-Apple sucks" party have at it. But it was irrelevant to say "It makes it sound like a cheap Dell." because it instead sounds like a cheap Macbook.

I also enjoy "Its not non-Apple bashing" followed by "I'll quit my bashing when I see fit" very classic and intelligent.

Talk about the issues. This one is a creaking Macbook, not about how your Mac now sounds like a cheap Dell. Because this has nothing to do with a Dell.

Yes, I also have this problem. It seems as though certain areas of the outside casing on my MacBook (CoreDuo), usually where the shiney outside case meets the matt inside casing, are not quite right. To be honest, I've noticed on these forums that Dell notebooks typically bear the brunt of the crictism of MacBooks. I owned a Dell before this MacBook, and although it was not quite as elegant as this MacBook, it did feel slightly put together better.

In addition to the left palm rest, I also experience 'creaking' on both sides of the iSight if I apply pressure with my forefinger and thumb. Whilst I am not really concerned about these issues per se, it does engender a wider concern that these problems might be progressive, thus at some stage (outside of the warrenty specifically) causing critical problems that will ultimatey affect the function of the notebook.

That is also what I was concernced about, that it would progress to a point, outside of warranty, where it became a real issue. Next time I'm around the Apple Store I'll stop in, thanks for your reply.
