I'm not tech savvy so I apologize in advance for any vagueness in my description... Thanks in advance!
I downloaded a PC game that is not on sale anymore. All related files are packed into .rar so that the game can be launched when I unrar. i.e. the game had been modified so that any PC user with a CD drive can play it without inserting the original CD.
An error message popped up when I tried to launch the game using Crossover. After some research, I found out that the error message comes up whenever the game cannot detect a CD drive (i.e. the error message isn't just for mac users). For PC users (who for some reason doesn't have a basic CD drive) the solution is to use Daemon Tools or Alcohol to install a virtual drive.
So my question is, how can I create a virtual drive on the mac for the game to recognize?
I heard that Disk Utility might work (even though through googling I saw some people say that it doesn't work for this purpose at all, but i'd still like to try it), but I have no idea how to do that...
Thanks!
