Hi all,

I'm using package builder for my application. At the completion of the install I'd like to add an action that adds the application to the current user's desktop -- but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to reference that within package builder?

Any ideas?

FIXED. Use:

$HOME/Desktop

Please don't dump stuff on the desktop without confirmation from the user.

That's one of the things I hated about WIndows. Every damn installer wanted to put crap on the desktop. The decent ones asked first. Many didn't. I'm glad it's not the Mac way of doing things.

The appropriate place for an app installer to put an app alias is in the Dock (although I don't like having that happen unannounced either).

Calm down, folks -- it's a corporate requirement for a kiosk-type application. This thing breaks all the rules.
