I have been testing out a few devices for home automation and lime training HomeKit integration app and the fact I can bring in all these other devices in a central software.
Anyway..I set my 4th Gen Apple TV today and to my surprise you cannot lock out photos from iCloud. All someone has to do is go to the photos app and it ask them if they want to enable iCloud photos. Since you have to be logged into a iCloud for the Apple TV to work as a hub for HomeKit. All the options to disable and enable photo stream and downloading pictures from iCloud is right there for anyone to enable.
So I started googling this shortly afterwards and it seems this a widely brought up issue since 2015. The most common and best response I have been seeing is to completely disable and delete all iCloud photos from your account. Straight from Apple as well...
Anyway..so what I was thinking was to use an existing extra Apple ID I created a few years ago for our shared iPad. Couldn't I just this additional Apple ID to be the HomeKit owner and then just add my main Apple ID as a family member?
