Creating A Fusion Drive From Backup?

I am looking at installing a 256GB SSD to my Mid-2011 iMac that already has a 1TB installed.

Every month I create a Bootable Backup using Carbon Copy to an external HDD.

My Question: Once I have the SDD fitted and ready to reinstall the OS, can I just reload the image from my Carbon Copy Backup, or do I need to conduct a fresh install of OSX ?

Once you create the fusion drive, you can just "re-clone" your cloned backup _back to_ the new fusion drive.

Works the same way as with any other drive...

It may take a few days for OS X to get performance back to where it was as OS X will have to move files between the SSD and HD again.
