When I signed out of my Apple ID and iCloud account on my iPhone, I now get the option to create a new account, so when I fill out some info (birthday, etc), I get asked if I want to "get a free iCloud email address" (which is what I want), and it gives a space to type, and automatically has @icloud inserted at the end. So when I type in my preferred email address (XYZ@icloud.com, it then says at the bottom of the typing panel, "this will now be your new Apple ID".
So I'm coming here before I hit "accept" button to ask, will this mean I will have a unified iCloud and Apple ID, in the sense that my email account will be XYZ@icloud.com, and that same address will be my Apple ID?
Side note: The reason I want to do this is I want a new iCloud email username (yea I know pointless for all this trouble). Why can't this be the 'Apple' way so its simple?
