Creating a Video Game: Logo Critique and Video Technical Help

Hello,
Every year I compete in a program at my school known as the Connecticut Innovation Academy. In fact, the program spans the entire state. Every year they issue a new challenge, and this year's challenge is to create a video game focusing on a green issue. I would love love love to get in depth about what our project is about, but on the other hand, I want to get genuine first thought reactions.

First, I was hoping to get some feedback on our company logo. I don't want to say what our company name is because I need to get some readability feedback. So here is our logo:

Second, I'm having trouble uploading our video to any video sharing site. So far I've tried YouTube and Facebook (it's currently getting processed on Vimeo) and on both there is a certain scene that gets cut out. If you watch the video in the following link, you'll notice that around 45 seconds in, it seems like there is a hiccup. Around that time, there is supposed to be a shot of Earth and in the source video it appears, but when I upload it, it gets cut over. I have no idea why that is happening and I'm hoping somewhere here does.
Keeping that technical glitch in mind, I'd also like some feedback on that. If this topic evolves, I'd love to get more in-depth with our idea, but it's important to keep a "baby-eyes" approach right now.

Nice logo... Try making the letters a little bit more "crisp"... I like the idea for the letters very cool, but have to remember that the letters need to look like letters such as the T, I know its a T but you could make them all just a little bit cleaner( Like the apple e, make a little worm head poking out where there should be a hole in the letter, and same for the d). As far as the video, the shots of the little robot floating are way to long. I watched it a second time, and just kinda got bored with how many shots there were of him just flying. Also if the landing is the landing at the end is of him landing on earth,try making it with less time of him flying down, and more about the approach. Know what I mean, like make him swoop down, like when he lands be climatic. Just my two cents, but I like it good start for sure! Hope you win it all!! Again just giving some advice, but I like it all in all

I really dig the handcrafted look of this logo. That's a very nontraditional approach which I think has the potential to really work for you. I read it pretty clearly as "Otherside."

hersine? or herside? What does it mean? And why is there a sun in front?

I'd say the 'T' needs to be more defined, its kind of lost next to the sun and giraffe.

Aaaah, Otherside it says... now i got it. I agree with the "T", it's unreadable... and also, the c (i mean e) is quite pacman-like.

If you change the angle of the upper line of the cut of the apple and the mouth of the fish, say, make it level, it would be easier to read them as E's. Also, you might consider the T being a tree rather than a little sprout.

I think he'd have trouble putting a worm in the apple and still have it be recognizable, especially since he already has a worm (albeit an earthworm) as the S. I agree that the D needs something done with it, but I'm not sure what. :/

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm going to have to look over the design again with my team and try to figure out how to incorporate your input. It's tough to remember that even though you see something so clearly, it really is subjective. Thanks again!
