I have had an Apple ID at least from 2005.

But now it would be time to have first email account within iCloud.

I tried about 20 different adresses, which were taken.
Then the system just went numb.
Doesn't say that name is taken, but doesn't create the account.
Just back to naming.

Any solutions?
Apple's support had no clue.

Btw, someone has reserved my real name and many variants from iCloud.
Could Apple do something about this?
I know that there are none with my name in my country and suspect that nowhere else either.

Why not just register a domain hosted with apple, and use that instead to be your your email ?
Simply register any iCloud name (example, T.Lahti2023@icloud.com) and then buy a domain such as "tokelahti.com"
That way you can then use any prefix as your iCloud account / email. Example info@tokelahti.com

I could.
But I just want a simple as short and easy to remember address.
I’ll use the mailbox only as a storage and backup.

I’m amazed that Apple can’t handle a simple thing, make me a mailbox manually, if the automatic creating is broken.

And suddenly, when a call from Apple's support was late, I tried to create the mailbox and it worked.
I tried that for about 100 times last 9 days with 4 different apple device.

Support did call and they had no idea why it worked now and not before...

...so, to confirm you now have the email address you wanted?

I’d just make a proton email, looks more techy and professional IMHO

Yes.

Btw, someone has taken my real name, both tokelahti@icloud.com and toke.lahti@icloud.com.

Anybody knows, if Apple has any interest on takng those offline, since these are potential identity thefts?
I doubt it. My name is taken too but my Apple ID was never my name so <shrug> lol.

I use Apple Mail as my primary email but I went the route of buying my own domain and using Apple mail to host the mail for it. Been working pretty good (but requires a bit of know how to set it up).

Apple mail is great for what you're wanting imo.
