Guys.
I wondered if you could help me solve a little problem I'm having. Documentation seems poor, or at least I have not been able to find an answer to what I'm looking to do.
In my house my partner and I between us have 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 laptops (air and pro) and 2 Time Capsules.
What I want to achieve is the following: although I don't know if it's possible.
My Setup
My Virgin Media router outputs a wireless signal. My 2013 Time Capsule is connected via ethanet to the VM router and outputs a wireless signal also. My 4th Gen Time Capsule (the old flat one) is in the hall and at the moment all it does is sends out a signal for me to connect to it but doesn't send out WiFi.
We backup our laptops, phones and iPads on the 2013 TC, and backup the backup to the 4th Gen. However, I'd like to not have to connect to the 4th Gen by selecting it from my WiFi menu, I'd like to be able to map to it so I can see both my 2013 TC and 4th Gen on my shared drives list and where needed drag folders between the two.
At the moment to backup the backup I'm dragging files from the 2013TC to my laptop after a backup and then connect to the 4th gen (with no wifi signal) and copy the files over.
Is it possible to:
1) Put the 4th Gen onto a network, either mapped or something so it's in the list of shares drives so I don't have to keep switching wifi to connect to each TC seperately?
2) Can I output a wireless signal from the 4th Gen without being connected to my router via ethanet, e.g., receive the signal wirelessly and pass it on.
Thanks for any help or assistance.
